Box O' Sox KAL Plans

For those of you who don’t know, Kristin of Voolenvine Yarns and the Yarngasm podcast is hosting a year-long knit along where the goal is to knit at least 12 socks during 2016 (or as many as you want over 12 pairs).  It is called the Box O' Sox KAL and it started in January 2016.  I'm not the biggest fan of sock knitting and I'm hoping that this KAL might inspire me to branch out a bit.  I'll be the first to admit that I suffer from Second Sock Syndrome but I'm working on it.  I've found that knitting socks two at a time, even though I much prefer knitting on DPNs, really helps since when I'm done with one, I'm done with both.  I first learned about 2AAT sock knitting when I saw a YouTube tutorial by Very Pink Knits.  I also know that if I were to knit 12 pairs of plain Stockinette socks, I'd never get to 12 pairs.  I'd be bored out of my mind.  So I set a goal for myself: for each pair of socks that I make I need to learn and try one new technique.  I guess the upside of not having knit many socks is that a lot of techniques will be new to me. 

I already have one pair finished and am about half way done with the second pair!  Below is the list of planned projects and yarn combinations that I'm hoping to use as well as the new skills I'm planning on trying out.
